Description
Technical experts, known as Radioman, were responsible for transmitting, receiving and processing voice and data telecommunications. Key duties included operating radio and teletype equipment, managing message priority systems, and handling classified materials.
The rating was officially created in 1921. In 1997, the Radioman rating merged with Data Processing Technicians, and by 1999, the title transitioned into the modern Information Systems Technician.
