Description
Heavy, solid bronze medallions engraved by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) with the name and elevation of a mountain top are called “bench marks.” They are epoxied onto the summits of many thousands of peaks throughout the mountains of the United States. Bench marks are very familiar to those who venture to these high places. Replicas of them form the perfect memento for anyone who reached a summit to keep a memory of the trip.
The obverse is an impressive replica of an actual USGS bench mark and is designed to be engraved with a specific peak name and elevation.

Framed by a detailed rendering of a pair of ice axes and climbing rope strung between pitons, the reverse has ample room for engraving the recipient’s name and date or a personal message.

Minted in solid bronze in the style of actual USGS bench marks.
This item measure 3-inches (76mm) in diameter.
