These talented and dedicated individuals are not only responsible for conducting in-air refueling of a wide range of aircraft, but are also tasked with loading cargo, monitoring and operating vital aircraft systems, and ensuring the safety of all passengers on board.
This coin salutes the expert Air Force technicians who have earned the right to be called “Boomer” for their remarkable skill and poise under pressure. The obverse features the profile image of a Boom Operator at the controls as he completes his refueling mission. The reverse bears the Air Force ethos with a space for engraving.
Minted in a brass alloy and gently finished in antique bronze, this coin is struck using special splash dies for exceptionally deep relief.
