Description
Whether you reached the summit or simply wish to preserve the memory of your journeys in the scenic Cascade Mountain range, a Mount Shasta hiking stick medallion is the ideal way to commemorate your travels for all to see. In eye-catching metal, this hiking stick medallion will be an enduring Mount Shasta keepsake, gift, or souvenir.
Mount Shasta is the second highest peak in the Cascade Range and the most prominent peak in northern California. The USGS (and our hiking medallion) has the summit recorded at 14,162 feet. Although a recent resurvey of the peak differs and tags it at 14,179, most official records still reflect the older, lower figure.
Mount Shasta’s distinctive volcanic cone contains California’s only true glaciers, which extend down along the mountain’s north and east slopes. Drawn by the peak’s beauty, its varied terrain and its sheer size, climbers from all over the world visit Mount Shasta to attempt its summit. Guarded by cascading snowfields, whipping winds, and sudden storms, the mountain’s steep slopes provides significant challenges.
The medallion depicts an image of Mount Shasta soaring into the California sky. Each medallion has a curved shape and comes with two brass nails to ensure it can be quickly and easily secured to any hiking staff. Minted in a brass alloy, this commemorative medallion is given an antique finish.
