For over 230 years the United States Penny, officially known as the cent, was a coin in the United States representing one-hundredth of a dollar, most well-known for its 1909 redesign featuring America’s 16th President, Abraham Lincoln, who was present on all pennies until the coin’s retirement in 2025, with the U.S. Mint no longer producing them.
