Description
Whether you reached the summit or simply wish to preserve the memory of your journeys in the rugged Cascade Mountain Range, a Mount Adams hiking stick medallion is the ideal way to commemorate your travels for all to see. In eye-catching metal, this hiking stick medallion will be an enduring Mount Adams keepsake, gift, or souvenir.
Mount Adams’ snow-capped dome stands at 12,276 feet, making it the third largest peak in the Cascades and the second highest peak in Washington State. Mount Adams dominates the western horizon from high points around the city of Yakima, where it was worshiped by the Native Americans there, and for whom the city is named.
Located east of the Cascade Crest in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, it is more remote than some of the other volcanoes in the Cascade Range, but is still accessible on back roads, attracting thousands of visitors to its slopes each year. While Mt. Adams contains some technically difficult routes on its northern and eastern flanks, its south slope route tends to be a long and snowy, but non-technical ascent.
The medallion depicts an image of Mount Adams rising high into the crisp Washington air. Each medallion has a curved shape and comes with two brass nails to ensure it can be quickly and easily secured to any hiking staff.
Minted in a brass alloy, this commemorative medallion is given an antique finish.
Each coin measures 1 3/8 inch x 1 3/8 inch (34mm x 35mm) Oval.
