Description

Written by the finger of God, the Ten Commandments guide God’s children to maintain the path of righteousness. Since Moses carried the inscribed stones down from the mount, the commandments have served followers as their principle laws of faith and life.

After freeing the Hebrews from Egyptian slavery, Moses spirited them through the Red Sea and eventually to Mount Sinai. There, God spoke to Moses for many days, and then called him to the mountain top for 40 days. Moses then returned with two stones tablets containing the Ten Commandments – a summary of God’s laws which are expressed throughout the bible – inscribed by His hand.

However, in Moses’ absence, the Israelites grew impatient and built an altar and golden calf to worship. The people’s restlessness and return to their idol worship of Egypt angered Moses so greatly that he shattered the tablets upon the ground. God then instructed Moses himself to chisel two new tablets with the “Decalogue” or “Ten Words.”

Today, these laws are the bedrock of both Christianity and Judaism, piloting followers in their morality and faith.

The obverse of the Ten Commandments medallion bears a bold image of stone tablets chiseled with Roman numerals one through ten. The reverse delivers all Ten Commandments as recorded in Exodus from various bible versions. The medallion is minted in bronze with a special deep-relief die, perfected with handsome antique finish.

Carry the Lord’s commands with you wherever you may roam. Or spread His word by giving them to church groups and loved ones in need of extra comfort. Though you live them every day, keep a reminder in your pocket for your hand to clasp and your eyes to read keeps faith strong.
