Commemorate your visit to Grand Canyon National Park with this die-struck medallion created by master artisans. Great as a gift, to celebrate a trip or to just hold as a lasting reminder of your experience in America’s great outdoors, this splash-minted National Park medallion will be a timeless keepsake that you will treasure forever.
Located in northwestern Arizona, Grand Canyon National Park is one of the country’s oldest national parks and is considered one of the natural wonders of the world. Consisting of an extensive system of steep and colorful canyons, the park is cut through by the mighty Colorado River. From the sweeping views seen from the popular Southern rim, to the white water adventures found in the gorge below, the Grand Canyon offers a bounty of amazing southwestern outdoor experiences.
The medallion’s obverse shows a view of the majestic Grand Canyon with the date the park was founded in 1919. The reverse displays an image of two rowers challenging the waters of the Colorado. Minted in deep relief using a special “splash minting” process, this coin is struck in a brass alloy and given a beautiful lacquered finished.
Each coin measures 1 1/2 inch (38.1mm) in diameter.
