Risking their lives to extinguish the blazes that threatened to destroy the Holy City, these brave men earned a reputation for their exceptional skill and fearless determination.
Surviving the centuries, the Maltese Cross is still worn today by those who willingly sacrifice their lives to protect us from fire’s deadly force.

The obverse bears a rendering of the Maltese Cross. The reverse features pays tribute to the courageous emergency medical personnel who put their lives on the line to safeguard us all. With the depiction of the Star of Life, the symbol denoting and honoring all emergency services personnel, with the words “WHEN SECONDS COUNT” AND “EMS.”
