Description

Founded in July of 1971, Coast Guard Training Center Petaluma is situated on 800 acres along northern California’s Pacific Coast.

Containing 219 buildings and more than 200,000 square-feet of space dedicated to training, it consists of 10 separate schools that provide instruction to 4,000 students each year. Training Center Petaluma provides service-wide instruction in leadership and total quality management for a wide range of specialties. It also offers performance enhancement courses for emergency medical technicians and computer systems personnel.

This coin salutes the dedication of those who serve the Petaluma Training Center, as it continues to prepare enlisted men and women for success in America’s Coast Guard force. The obverse features the emblem of Training Center Petaluma. The reverse features the official Coast Guard seal.

Each coin measures 1 3/4 inch (44mm) in diameter.
