Master electricians, the Coast Guard’s Electronics Technicians troubleshoot, maintain and repair communications, collision avoidance, and power generation and control systems for ships and aircraft.
Aboard ships, Electronic Technicians maintain all propulsion and navigation systems, ensuring their operational readiness and effectiveness. They also prepare aircraft for launch and recovery, completing pre-flight inspections of all electronic systems and are qualified to serve as in-flight aircrew personnel, serving as flight engineers and communications experts.
