Description
The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II, widely known as the “Warthog,” is a dedicated close-air-support aircraft for the U.S. Air Force. Built as a heavily armored “flying tank,” it features a titanium cockpit to protect the pilot and is built around the devastating GAU-8 Avenger 30mm rotary cannon.
This coin salutes the A-10’s contribution to the success of U.S. military operations throughout the world. The reverse shows a detailed 3D UV-Print depiction of an A-10 attack group on a mission, making use of the aircraft’s rotary cannon and bombs. The reverse shows the A-10 Thunderbolt emblem in colorful enamel. This coin has a shiny silver-colored finish and is struck in brass.
