Description
Highly adaptable and extremely elusive, the White Tailed Deer is one of the most numerous large mammals in North America. Standing up to four feet tall and possessing long, powerful legs, the White Tailed Deer is renowned for its agility. Despite weighing up to 400 pounds, it can sustain a top speed of thirty-five miles per hour across large distances. Skilled at evading predators, it can also leap more than eight feet in the air. The White Tailed Deer roams river valleys, forests, and hillsides and is frequently spotted as it searches for its food, which consists mainly of leaves, twigs, fruits and berries.
This coin features a detailed depiction of a White Tailed Deer on its obverse. Bordered by a classic wreath design, the reverse contains a space for engraving.
