Commissioned on 2 July 1983, the USS Jarrett has a displacement of approximately 4,100 long tons and stretches some 453 feet in length. Armed with naval guns and anti-air, anti-surface, and anti-submarine torpedoes, with other weapons, she was equipped for surface-to-air, surface-to-surface, and anti-submarine warfare. She was also the home to two SH-60 Sea Hawk helicopters.

The USS Jarrett (FFG-33) was a force for defending American interests and protecting freedom across the globe. An Oliver Hazard Perry-class guided-missile frigate for the US Navy, she was marvelously equipped to succeed in even the most demanding of missions. The USS Jarrett was decommissioned on 21 April 2011.

Commissioned on 2 July 1983, the USS Jarrett has a displacement of approximately 4,100 long tons and stretches some 453 feet in length. Armed with naval guns and anti-air, anti-surface, and anti-submarine torpedoes, with other weapons, she was equipped for surface-to-air, surface-to-surface, and anti-submarine warfare. She was also the home to two SH-60 Sea Hawk helicopters.

Minted in the USA from solid bronze, using special deep-relief coining dies, and hand-finished with an antique patina for exceptional quality and detail, this coin pays tribute to the USS Jarrett and salutes the exceptional service of her crew. The obverse contains a portrait of the ship’s namesake, Admiral Harry B. Jarrett, with a scene of the vessel sailing near the San Diego-Coronado Bridge. The reverse displays the shield and crest of the USS Jarrett with its motto, “VALENS ET EGREGIUS” which means “Able and Excellent.”

Each coin measures 1.5 inch (39mm) in diameter.
