Commissioned on 4 August 1969, also known as Coast Guard Day, the USCGC Alert has a displacement of approximately 759 tons with an approximate length of 210 feet. Due to its multitude of support capabilities, the Alert is ideally suited for a variety of critical missions including search and rescue, law enforcement, homeland security, and even humanitarian operations.
