Description
Kimball is the 7th multi-mission National Security Cutter with a unique advantage for worldwide deployment due to the home port in Honolulu, Hawaii. With a range of 13,000 nautical miles, the advanced technologies of the cutter are designed to support the national objectives to maintain the security of America’s maritime boundaries, engage in critical Law Enforcement operations, and provide long range search and rescue capabilities. In 2022, the crew executed a patrol in the Eastern Pacific Ocean and seized over 60 million dollars of cocaine, and during a patrol in the Bering Sea the crew conducted 18 Living Marine Resource boardings; the most a national security cutter has completed during a single patrol in the 17th District area of responsibility.
