Founded in 1959, Training Center Yorktown is the Coast Guard’s largest training command, providing instruction in all of the Coast Guard’s operational programs.

Through its various schools and centers, including its National Aids to Navigation School (NATON), the Boat Forces Center, and Boatswain’s Mate School, it fulfills its mission to train and equip the Coast Guard’s enlisted personnel to meet the demands of providing effective search and rescue, homeland security, and maritime law enforcement.
