Description
The United States Coast Guard’s National Security Cutter (NSC) is the largest cutter designs and the second longest of all U.S. Coast Guard cutters.
These vessels can be used for intercepting suspect vessels, or for rescuing swimmers, fishery protection, maritime homeland security missions, counterterrorism, coastal patrol missions, defense operations and other military/naval operations, and can assist in mine warfare.
The Cutter plays a vital role in enabling America’s premier maritime security and coastal defense force to achieve its vital mission.
This coin honors the legendary Cutter and commemorates the proud tradition of the U.S. Coast Guard.
