Based in Port Angeles, Washington, the 210 foot cutter Active is assigned primarily to law enforcement and search and rescue operations. Nicknamed “Little Tough Guy,” she was first commissioned on September 1, 1966. With 12 officers and 70 enlisted men, CGC Active has a cruising range of 5,000 miles. Her awards in recent years include being honored for the Prince William Sound clean up after the Exxon Valdez oil spill, and numerous anti-drug operations.

This coin is made in honor of the USCG Cutter Active and salutes all who have served on board. Minted in a brass alloy, this coin is embued with durable enamel in the bold colors of the cutter’s emblem. The coin is packaged in a polybag with a detailed header card.

Each coin measures 1 3/4 inch (44mm) in diameter.
