Also known as the “Fightin’ Fifty-Fifth,” the USAF 55th Wing has been critical to the defense of the United States of America for over 50 years. The wing excellently provides real-time intelligence, reconnaissance, command and control, information warfare and combat support to U.S. leaders and commanders all across the world.
The wing has amassed a commendable list of accomplishments for its combat record since World War II, including two Distinguished Unit Citations. Since its beginning, the unit has worked around the globe, flying multiple types of aircraft.
Minted in solid bronze, and hand-finished with an antique patina for exceptional quality and detail, this coin is dedicated to the brave men and women of the 55th Wing. The obverse features the insignia of the 55th Wing, imbued with durable enamel accents, with the wing motto “VIDEMUS OMNIA” translated as “We See All.” The reverse displays the seal of the United States Air Force.
