Founded in 1908, the National Guard Bureau (NGB) serves as the principal advisor to the Army and Air Force on all National Guard affairs.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the NGB oversees the training and deployment of Army and Air National Guard soldiers and is charged with developing and administering programs for all National Guard units throughout the United States. Executing its mission to ensure the combat readiness of America’s citizen-soldiers, the National Guard Bureau is vital to the success of America’s global military strategy.

This coin salutes the role of the National Guard Bureau in bolstering the strength of America’s Armed Forces. The obverse replicates the design and detail of the National Guard Bureau’s Branch Insignia, which contains a pair of crossed fasces depicted against an American Bald Eagle. The reverse bears the official seal of the U.S. Army.

Minted in a brass alloy and finished in bronze, this coin is imbued with rich enamel on both sides.

Each coin measures 1 3/4 inch (44mm) in diameter.
