Officially established in 1947, the Army Medical Specialist Corps has a long and distinguished record of providing exceptional rehabilitative care for America’s soldiers.
The modern Medical Specialist Corps, comprised entirely of commissioned officers, traces its origins back to World War I, when a group of highly trained medical technicians served the Army as civilian volunteers both in the U.S. and throughout Europe.
This coin pays tribute to the proud heritage of the Army Medical Specialist Corps and salutes the skill of all those who help it achieve its mission. The obverse contains the Medical Specialist Corps insignia. The reverse bears the seal of the U.S. Army.
Minted in a brass alloy and finished in bronze, this coin is imbued with rich enamel on both sides.
Each coin measures 1 3/4 inch (44mm) in diameter.
