Providing quality medical care to America’s soldiers since 1917, the Medical Service Corps has served as a vital combat support element of the U.S. Army for more than 85 years.
As a multi-mission force, it offers technical and scientific medical support to sustain the Army’s operations throughout the world. The highly skilled and trained professionals of the Medical Services Corps provide direct patient care across a wide range of specialty areas, including audiology, podiatry, mental health, and optometry. The dedicated men and women who comprise the Medical Services Corps also conduct extensive field research, oversee the operation of clinical laboratories and pharmacies, and create patient evacuation plans for fixed facilities and tactical units.
This coin is dedicated to the outstanding skill and commitment demonstrated by the members of the U.S. Army’s Medical Service Corps. The obverse contains the official Medical Corps insignia. The reverse bears the seal of the U.S. Army.
Minted in a brass alloy and finished in bronze, this coin is imbued with rich enamel on both sides.
Each coin measures 1 3/4 inch (44mm) in diameter.
