Weighing up to four pounds, the Snowy Owl ranges in height from 20-27 inches. Stretching more than four feet in length, Snowy Owls possess the largest wingspan of all North American owls. Making efficient use of their powerful talons, they stalk unsuspecting prey with ease. Snowy Owls prefer open country to the cover of trees and can be spotted resting along the ground or in other exposed areas, relying on their sharp eyesight to detect danger and target prey.
