This stunning coin is perfect for personnel and family of those stationed at one of the many US military bases along Colorado’s majestic Front Range. From Fort Carson to Schriever Air Force Base, from Navy operations in Pueblo to the famed Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, each branch brings its unique heritage and tradition to the area making it a diverse, not to mention secure, place to live.
In 2012 Fort Carson and Schriever Air Force Base each received a piece of the fallen Word Trade Center, which tragically fell on September 11th, 2001. The steel beams were given to a select few bases in the country as a way for our men and women in uniform to remember the fallen and as a vivid reminder of what we are fighting against.
Minted from solid nickel alloy, and imbued with bold colored enamel on both sides, this medallion is dedicated to the men and women who tirelessly fight to protect our freedoms. The obverse features an artist’s rendition of Pikes Peak with the words “PIKES PEAK” and “FRONT RANGE” above and below. The reverse displays the logos of four branches of the US military – US Army, US Air Force, US Navy, and the US Marine Corps.
Each coin measures 1 3/4 inch (44mm) in diameter.
