The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City (NSWC/PC) is the U.S. Navy’s premier organization devoted to the development and testing of coastal warfare applications.
Strategically positioned on more than 650 acres along St. Andrew Bay in Panama City, Florida, the NSWC/PC’s location affords direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. Conducting cutting-edge research and testing in the areas of amphibious and littoral warfare, maritime special operations, and warfare analysis, the highly skilled personnel of the NSWC/PC enhance the combat capabilities of the U.S. Navy throughout the world. Applying proven technical expertise to a wide range of military disciplines, they play a central role in the development of the world’s most advanced marine warfighting technology.
This coin is dedicated to the innovative efforts of the members of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City, whose tireless commitment to excellence helps advance the mission of the U.S. Navy. The obverse features the Panama City Naval Support Activity seal. The reverse depicts an emblem of the US Navy, featuring an eagle grasping an anchor in its talons, encircled by chains and rope, symbolic of naval traditions dating back to the nation’s first ships. Struck in a brass alloy and brushed with an antique bronze finish, this coin is imbued with bright enamel on both sides.
Each coin measures 1.75 inches (44mm) in diameter.
