Description
The Next of Kin Deceased Personnel Lapel Button was approved in 1973 for the primary next of kin of armed services members who lose their lives while serving on active duty while assigned in the National Guard or Reserve of the 5 major US military branches while in a drill status.
Similarly, each branch of the US military, also, has its own Gold Star program to help provide enhanced support and outreach for the lifetime of each survivor. Today, the nation recognizes the sacrifice that all Gold Star Family members make when a father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, or other loved one dies in service to the nation. Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day is the last Sunday of September and Gold Star Spouses Day is April 5.
When you see someone wearing this pin, you know that he or she as lost a loved one who selflessly served our nation.
This lapel pin is the custom keepsake for all that have sacrificed so much and all those that are left behind. This polished bronze lapel pin, imbued with eye-catching purple enamel and given a shiny gold finish.
Each lapel pin measures 1/2 inches (12mm) in diameter.
