Seaman, Hospital, and Dental Apprentices provide critical support to enhance the fundamental services the U.S. Navy’s ships and shore stations.
Focused on sharpening their technical skills through steady training and constant practice, they work tirelessly to improve the overall effectiveness of their assigned command. Assisting in the operation of administrative offices, shipboard health care facilities, and intelligence and information systems departments, these men and women strengthen the Navy’s ability to complete its worldwide mission.
This coin salutes the dedicated service of the U.S. Navy’s Seaman, Hospital, and Dental Apprentices, whose commitment is critical to the success of Navy operations throughout the world.
Depicted in bold enamel on the obverse is the rating badge worn by the Navy’s Seaman, Hospital, and Dental Apprentices. The reverse bears the eagle emblem of the U.S. Navy and contains a space for engraving.
Minted in copper nickel and given antique silver finish, this coin is imbued with bold colorful enamel on both sides.
Each coin measures 1 3/4 inch (44mm) in diameter.
