Charged with legal administrative support and other tasks, Legalmen play a vital role supporting the modern U.S. Navy.
Legalmen are trained legal aides who assist professionals in the field of law. They work in Navy legal offices, performing administrative and clerical tasks necessary to process claims, conduct court and administrative hearings. They maintain records, documents and legal reference libraries. Legalmen may give advice on tax returns, voter registration procedures, immigration and customs regulations, regulations governing Social Security and Navy benefits. They perform many duties related to courts-martial and nonjudicial hearings.
This coin salutes the service of all Legalmen, whose dedication and efficiency contributes to the success of the U.S. Navy.
Minted on the obverse against a blue enameled backdrop is the specialty insignia of the U.S. Navy Legalman. The reverse contains a stylized anchor design, which incorporates a full color rendering of the U.S. Navy’s official emblem.
Struck in a cuper nickel alloy, this coin contains an antique finish.
