Standing at 7,969 feet, Mount Olympus is the highest peak in Washington State’s majestic Olympic Range.

Located in close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, this sizable mountain is comprised of three peaks that rise above the vast scenic beauty of Olympic National Park. Mount Olympus contains eight low-elevation glaciers that extend down from its summit as well as several icefields above 5,000 feet. Although ascents are often made difficult by low visibility and other weather-related factors, climbers of all skill levels can still access the summit. The normal approach is via a trail along the Hoh River to the Glacier Meadows Campsite.

This coin is a tribute to those who have ventured onto the rock and ice of Mt. Olympus. The obverse features a rendering of Mount Olympus and includes its elevation. The reverse depicts a mountain climber steadily ascending toward the summit.

Minted in a brass alloy, this coin is finished in antique bronze.

Each coin measures 1 1/2 (39mm) in diameter.
