Description
Standing at 20,320 feet, Mount McKinley’s ice-clad summit is the highest point in North America.
This massive mountain, also known as “Denali,” offers a serious challenge to even the most skilled and experienced climbers. Requiring extreme perseverance and the highest levels of physical and mental toughness, the mountain’s steep slopes yield only to the most dedicated and prepared mountaineers who are also fortunate with the peak’s infamous arctic weather.
This coin pays tribute to the climbers who have tested their own limits along the outer edges of one of the world’s largest mountains. The obverse features a rendering of Mt. McKinley and includes its elevation. The reverse contains two ice axes, classic symbol of mountaineering, below an open area available for engraving a personal message.
This coin is minted in MerlinGold®, a proprietary brass alloy that simulates the look and feel of real gold.
Each coin measures 1 1/2 (39mm) in diameter.
