Description
Dominating the surrounding landscape, Mount Hood’s pointy pinnacle measures at 11, 237 feet, making it the highest peak in the state of Oregon.
Renowned for its massive permanent snowfields, sustained by annual snowfalls of more than 500 inches in some areas, Mount Hood is a major attraction both for skilled climbers and outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds. The least challenging and most often climbed routes are located on the slopes directly above the world-famous Timberline Lodge Ski Area. Challenging ascents can be found on more remote parts of the mountains, however. Despite its picturesque profile and its perennial popularity, Mount Hood harbors serious pitfalls that require care to avoid.
This distinctive coin keychain is dedicated to those climbers who have pushed past their own limits to master the terrain of Oregon’s tallest peak. The obverse features a detailed rendering of Mount Hood complete with its elevation. The reverse depicts a mountain climber steadily advancing up its icy slopes.
Minted in a brass alloy, this coin is finished in antique bronze.
Each coin measures 1 1/2 (39mm) in diameter.
