Possessing a thick white coat and black horns and hooves, Mountain Goats are typically spotted along steep mountain slopes, ridgelines, and cliffs.
Agile and sure-footed, Mountain Goats use their two-toed hooves to skillfully navigate the rocky terrain of the high-altitude habitats. Measuring more than three feet tall at the shoulder, these large mammals can weigh as much as 300 pounds. Far removed from most predators, Mountain Goats are susceptible to attack from above by golden eagles.
