Description

Fort Benning, Ga, is the Home of the Infantry, producing the world’s finest infantry soldiers and trained units. Rangers, Air Assault, Airborne, Light, and Mechanized Infantry—all call Fort Benning their home. The Fort Benning—Home of the Infantry challenge coin salutes these warriors who deploy on short notice to anywhere in the world, and who defeat the enemy wherever they are found, in deserts, jungles, mountains or valleys. All Infantry warriors can carry this coin with pride.

The Fort Benning—Home of the Infantry challenge coin is crafted of special nickel alloy, its bright finish featuring recessed, raised and matte-finished areas. The front is a bold rendering of the Dagger Shield with Follow Me, superimposed over the US Army Infantry crest: two crossed muskets, vintage 1795 Springfield. The reverse is engravable, with space for a name, dates of service, or a special message. Over a United States Army banner is an American Bald Eagle. The circumference defines the Army mission: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Service, Honor, Integrity, and Courage.

Fort Benning’s huge area of more than 181,000 acres is divided between military training areas, weapons ranges, drop zones, and landing zones. Annually, an average of 20,000 troops are in the field daily. Fort Benning: first in training, first in readiness.

Each coin measures 1.75 inches (44mm) in diameter.
