The US Army Fort Eustis challenge coin features the famous US Army Transportation Corps winged Branch insignia, symbol of the Army’s most deployed unit. Soldiers stationed at Fort Eustis supported Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Restore Hope, Operation Provide Hope, and Operation Vigilant Warrior, as well as operations in Rwanda, Haiti, and Bosnia. The US Army does not move without the US Army Transportation Corps. Carry this Ft. Eustis coin with pride for your vital service in the face of danger and under combat conditions.
The US Army Transportation Center is an 8,300-acre facility providing training in rail, marine, and amphibious operations and other modes of transportation. Fort Eustis is the Army’s only training facility for logistics-over-the-shore operations to train troops on amphibious equipment and to practice the transfer of military cargo from ship to shore.
The US Army Fort Eustis challenge coin is bold and handsome, minted in a rugged brass alloy. The obverse is the winged insignia, surrounded by Home of Army Transportation, Fort Eustis, VA. The top of the reverse is an American Bald Eagle over a banner reading United States Army, surrounded on the circumference by the Army qualities of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Courage, Service, Honor, and Integrity. The lower half of the reverse is engravable, for name, dates of duty, or a special message.
Each coin measures 1.75 inches (44mm) in diameter.
