Commemorate your visit to Guadalupe Mountain National Park with this die-struck medallion created by master artisans. Great as a gift, to celebrate a trip or to just hold as a lasting reminder of your experience in America’s great outdoors, this splash-minted National Park medallion will be a timeless keepsake that you will treasure forever.
Spread across the Guadalupe Mountains in the high country of West Texas, Guadalupe Mountains National Park is home to more than 200 bird species as well as Guadalupe Peak, the highest point in Texas at 8,749 feet. The park’s diversity of habitats includes stunning desert wildlife and miles of trails through pinion pine and Douglas-fir forests.
The medallion’s obverse of the medallion shows Guadalupe Peak reaching upward to touch the desert sky. The reverse shows one of the park’s many birds in mid-flight. Minted in deep relief using a special “splash minting” process, this coin is struck in a brass alloy and given a beautiful lacquered finished.
Each coin measures 1 1/2 inch (38.1mm) in diameter.
