Description
Canis lupus
The Gray Wolf, also known as the Timber Wolf, is the largest of the wild dogs in North America.
Possessing a stocky body and powerful limbs, the Gray Wolf averages 4-5 feet in length and typically weighs up to 80 pounds. Traveling in packs, these territorial animals exhibit an impressive range, sometimes migrating several hundred miles in search of hunting grounds. Fierce predators, Gray Wolves often attack mammals much larger than themselves, such as moose, elk, and deer.
This coin features a detailed depiction of a Gray Wolf on its obverse. Bordered by a classic wreath design, the reverse contains a space for engraving.
This proof-like coin is minted in MerlinGold®, a proprietary brass alloy that simulates the look and feel of gold. Each coin comes packaged with a descriptive header card.
Each coin measures 1 7/8 inch (47mm) in diameter.
