Description

The 2nd Cavalry Regiment, a U.S. Army post located just outside the town. Grafenwoehr is located in Germany and is 60miles from Nurenberg which is a quiet and friendly community of people helping our U.S. Army.

USAG Grafenwoehr commands, controls and operates the installations of Grafenwoehr, Hohenfels, and Vilseck to support and enable mission and readiness of stationed and rotational units while caring for people and providing the highest quality training environment for the European theater of operations. This includes: maintaining liaison with mission commanders, leaders, and host nation communities; conducting daily operations to provide installation support to mission commanders IAW the common levels of service; maintaining and improving installation services, infrastructure and environment; planning for and conducting contingency operations by providing deployment support; and, maintaining garrison operational and situational awareness and provide force protection within the USAG Grafenwoehr area of responsibility.

The 2nd Cavalry Regiments, Distinctive insignia consisting of a gold eight pointed star of rays surmounted by a green palmetto leaf charged with a silver color fleur-de-lis, on a green ribbon scroll forming the base of the device, the regimental motto “Toujours Prêt” in gold metal letters. The eight-pointed star insignia worn by dragoons, the 2d Cavalry having been originally formed as the Second Regiment of Dragoons in 1836. The palmetto leaf represents the Regiment’s first action against the Seminole Indians in Florida, where the palmetto leaf grows in abundance. The fleur-de-lis is for combat service in France in both World War I and World War II. The motto “Toujours Prêt” (Always Ready) expresses the spirit and élan of the Regiment.

Minted in bronze and given antique finish, this keychain is imbued with bold colorful enamel on both sides.

Each keychain measures 1 1/2 inch (39mm) in diameter.
