Originally commissioned as the 2nd Regiment of Dragoons in 1836, it is the longest continuously serving regiment of the U.S. Army. Through the Civil War to WWI, to WWII, to aiding in the War on Terror today, the weapons and tools of combat have changed, but the bravery and readiness of its members have not.
