Description
Declare you are “always ready” with this bold crossed-sabers insignia of the U.S. Army’s 2nd Cavalry Regiment.
Originally commissioned as the 2nd Regiment of Dragoons in 1836, it is the longest continuously serving regiment of the U.S. Army. Through the Civil War to WWI, to WWII, to aiding in the War on Terror today, the weapons and tools of combat have changed, but the bravery and readiness of its members have not.
In a stunning gold finish, the crossed sabers of the insignia nod to a time when the sword dominated the battlefield. The vibrant emerald enamel highlights the regiment’s insignia and motto “toujours pret”, meaning “always ready.” The palmetto represents Florida, the location of regiment’s first battle for land against the Seminole Indians in1836, and the fleur-de-lis acknowledges the regiment’s service in both WWI and WWII.
Wear this beautifully crafted insignia as a proclamation that you “remember your regiment and follow your officers” as part of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment.
Each lapel pin measures 1 1/2 inch x 7/8 inch (38mm x 21mm) Irregular.
