Description
Commemorate your visit to Crater Lake National Park with this die-struck medallion created by master artisans. Great as a gift, to celebrate a trip or to just hold as a lasting reminder of your journey through America’s great outdoors, this National Parks medallion will capture the Crater Lake experiences meaningful to you in enduring, splash-minted metal.
Found in southern Oregon, Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the U.S. and renowned for the gem-like color found in its deep blue water. Nestled inside a volcanic crater, the park is surrounded by steep slopes, mountains and large cliffs.
Interesting Sights: Wizard Island and Phantom Ship.
The medallion’s obverse displays a bird’s-eye view of the mysterious lake and the date the park was established, in 1902. The reverse shows a park native, the chipmunk. Minted in deep relief using a special “splash minting” process, this coin is struck in a brass alloy and given a beautiful lacquered finished.
Each coin measures 1 1/2 inch (38.1mm) in diameter.
