Description
Sector St. Petersburg is responsible for safety and security of the entire West Coast of Florida, named because of its location at St. Petersburg Florida.
It has five small boat stations, one Aids to Navigation Team (ATON), four 110’ Patrol Boats, two 87’ Patrol Boats, one 75’ ATON construction tender, and one 175’ buoy tender that cover the AOR. Sector also consists of Logistics, Prevention, and Response Departments to carry out CG missions.
The sailors who serve Sector St. Petersburg skillfully execute operations across all Coast Guard mission areas, including maritime law enforcement, aids to navigation maintenance, maritime mobility, and search and rescue. As a subordinate command of the Coast Guard’s Seventh District, Sector St. Petersburg plays an important role in securing Florida’s West Coast region and strengthening the nation’s domestic defense network.
This coin salutes the proud men and women who serve U.S. Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg . The obverse features the official Sector St. Petersburg emblem. The reverse bears the Coast Guard seal.
Struck in a brass alloy, this coin is imbued with rich enamel highlights on both sides.
