This coin is dedicated to all Master Chief Petty Officers, whose outstanding skill and determined leadership have earned them a distinguished place in America’s Coast Guard force. Featured on the obverse is a rendering of the distinctive insignia worn by these individuals, which depicts an eagle with wings spread wide resting on an inverted “rocker” above three yellow chevrons. Above the eagle’s wings are two stars. Featured on the reverse is the shield of the Coat of Arms of the United States, superimposed over a fouled anchor flanked by two stars, denoting the rank of the Master Chief Petty Officer.
