Located in Mobile, Alabama, the Aviation Training Center is a multi-mission unit that serves as both the Coast Guard’s flight school and as an operational air station.
Aviation Training Center (ATC) Mobile, AL primarily provides qualification instruction for pilots flying the HU-25 “Guardian,” the HH-60 “Jayhawk,” and the HH-65 “Dolphin.” The operations division supports all major Coast Guard missions and is charged with an area of responsibility that extends from the Louisiana/Texas border to the eastern edge of the Florida panhandle. A specialized unit within the operations division, known as the Polar Operations division, also provides aviation support for long-range deployments in support of the Coast Guard’s polar icebreaker fleet. Combining education, hands-on training, and operational excellence, Aviation Training Command is a vital resource to the Coast Guard and the nation at large.

The reverse bears the official seal of the U.S. Coast Guard. Struck in a brass alloy and gently brushed with an antique bronze finish, this coin is imbued with rich enamel accents on both sides.
