Found only in North America, the Bobcat is regarded as an extremely powerful and proficient predator.
Consummate small-game hunters, Bobcats possess keen eyesight, an acute sense of hearing, and amazing quickness, relying on short bursts of speed to overwhelm prey, which include hare, rabbits, and shrews. Territorial by nature, they have been known to stake out a range in excess of 40 square miles. Typically weighing 15-30 pounds, Bobcats average approximately twenty inches in height. Despite their relatively small size, they are renowned as fearsome predators.
