Fiercely competitive, Big Horn Sheep are renowned for using their sharp horns to engage in brutal head to head combat.
Weighing up to 300 pounds and featuring sturdy curved horns that can extend up to 45 inches in length, Big Horn Sheep are imposing animals. They range in length from 50-62 inches and average between 32-40 inches in height. Isolated from most predators, Big Horn Sheep make their homes along steep mountain slopes and rocky cliffs, traversing up and down the mountain in search of food. These muscular mammals are renowned for their excellent climbing ability and can be spotted trotting along the outer edges of narrow ridge-lines.
This coin features a detailed depiction of a Big Horn Sheep on its obverse. Bordered by a classic wreath design, the reverse contains a space for engraving.
