Description
Commemorate your visit to Badlands National Park with this die-struck medallion created by master artisans. Great as a gift, to celebrate a trip or to just hold as a lasting reminder of your journey through America’s great outdoors, this National Parks medallion will capture the Badlands experiences meaningful to you in enduring, splash-minted metal.
Found in the stark landscape of southwestern South Dakota, Badlands National Park is a beautiful combination of rock spires, castles, cathedrals, and battlements, almost a hundred miles long and fifty miles wide, that cut across the Great Plains of South Dakota. The area is known for its large number of historically significant fossils found in the park.
The medallion’s obverse shows a stunning depiction of the stark and barren beauty of the badlands. The reverse depicts a park regular, the black-footed ferret. Minted in deep relief using a special “splash minting” process, this coin is struck in a brass alloy and given a beautiful lacquered finished.
Each coin measures 1 1/2 inch (38.1mm) in diameter.
This is an NWTMINT surplus item.
