With respect and dignity, honor the memory of loved ones who served their country and those who loved them with an Air Force Widow commemorative coin. The obverse displays a verse from the Gospel of Matthew, “Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted,” and two open hands. The reverse shows a group of Air Force fighter jets in formation before the American flag.
The flag on the front of the coin stands for our great nation, The United States of America. The three F-22 planes are the missing man formation. On the back of the coin you will see an eagle taking flight out of the Lord’s hands. That is our loved ones who served and believed in our great nation and the freedom that you and I enjoy today. This coin was designed by Air Force Widow, Mrs. Deborah J. Avery.
This handsome challenge coin is minted in a brass alloy, given an antique bronze finish, and is imbued with durable and attractive enamel.
Each coin measures 1 3/4 inches, (44mm) in diameter.
This is a surplus NWTM item.
