Founded in 1996, the Air Force Communications Agency (AFCA) supplies America’s Air Force with the critical intelligence information it needs to maintain its combat superiority. Comprised of approximately 600 of the most highly skilled and dedicated communications experts, the AFCA is headquartered at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.
As the official technical arm of the United States Air Force, the AFCA is charged with facilitating communication among pilots and aviation support personnel in support of their combat objectives. Committed to enhancing the effectiveness of the world’s largest and most advanced aviation force, the AFCA’s dedicated staff members develop, test, and maintain a complex network of information systems. Relaying sophisticated data in real time to America’s fighting forces, they contribute to the success of U.S. military operations throughout the world.
This coin honors the outstanding service of the members of the AFCA, as they continue to develop innovative tools to strengthen America’s Air Force. The obverse contains the seal of the Air Force Communications Agency. The reverse bears the official emblem of the United States Air Force.
