Officers and detectives work to improve the overall quality of life in Arlington through crime prevention and reduction measures. In addition to active patrols throughout the County and comprehensive follow-up investigations, the Department participates in numerous crime prevention programs and develops unique initiatives to educate and inform the community.
Serving as the nation’s elite specialized tactical law enforcement units, SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) teams are comprised of America’s most highly skilled and dedicated police officers. Exhibiting the highest levels of physical stamina and mental toughness, these committed officers operate with admirable efficiency in the command of their duties. Called upon to conduct highly specialized and extremely dangerous missions, they risk their lives to preserve order and protect those most in need.
