From its first stand against the Seminole Indians in Florida in 1836 to the Civil War, WWI and WWII, to aiding in the War on Terror today, the 2nd Cavalry Regiment reigns as the longest continuously serving regiment of the U.S. Army.
Minted in a rich antique finish, this challenge coin’s obverse features the unit’s insignia and motto: “TOUJOURS PRET” (“always ready”) highlighted with bold green hand-applied enamel. The reverse displays the United States and German flags crossed in friendship, encircled by lustrous black enamel.
